View Full Version : Two Finger Knockout

My impression of this two finger strike, is under these perfect circumstances with a person who knows where to strike, has the effect. Similar to many MA dojo moves that start with "grab my wrist here like so..." not likely something that's of any "real world" utility. Agree?

In case you wanna know why there's a bat in the vid:

Absolute load of crap. The reason we punch is because poking with enough force to do damage would break our fingers. To do that much damage to the other dude, let alone against the sternum, would have broken or otherwise catastrophically injured the puncher's fingers.

Bullcrap and nothing more.

Okay, without looking too hard into the video, yeah, it's possible. Chances are the guy didn't actually strike the sternum but the area just below it (Can't recall the proper name), which is a nice soft spot that doesn't care who you are and can put someone down for a while. That said, the "theory" that the guy is talking about that a punch is inefficient because of large surface area tells me the guy is full of shit. I know of no one who is worth their shit who teaches to use the entire fist as the focus point when doing bare hand punches. I was always taught you focus the strike on the first two knuckles of the fist for the same reason he is arguing the two fingers, more focused force of the strike. So in my opinion, yes what is shown could happen/is possible from my knowledge and experience. That said a proper punch with proper technique could get the same result.

So much staged gimmickry and inaccurate information I don't know where to start.

Everyone here should catch the whole "recoil of the gun and a bullet have the same energy but the bullet is smaller" nonsense.

Now it is true that the same force concentrated on a smaller area is more productive, this is why thin nails go into wood easier than railroad track spikes when truck with the same hammer.

The first really, really BIG problem is this guys "two finger" strike where his fingers are not only locked but actually bent against the joint. You can strengthen all kinds of things on the human body except joints. This is why knee joint injuries are so prevalent in sports, there is no conditioning to make them stronger.

So if this guy actually delivered a "punch force" strike he'd have snapped both fingers, likely in many places. Finger strikes are done but the fingers are slightly bent, never locked, and usually stacked. These fingers strikes are typically applied to soft targets like the windpipe.

If you wanted to strike the solar plexus with maximum results you'd be much better off bending a single knuckle point in front of your fist, or learning how to focus on the two primary knuckles of the fist like they do in most karate styles.

But seriously, even a flat fist punch to the solar plexus is going to drop most people.

The best thing about the video was the three hottie audience.

This falls in line with a video I saw where some martial arts "master" claimed to be able to knock out people without touching them. He was then asked to demo the technique on somebody who wasn't one of his "students" and surprise, it didn't work.

...and Indian fakirs claim to be able to fly.

I saw a video of them flying, well, they were hopping up and down while seated. I guess in the up mode you could claim it as flying, or not...

I'd conservatively estimate that 80% of the demonstrations I've seen are somehow rigged, fake or staged. The first clue that it is likely bullshit is when somebody calls themselves a "master" of anything.

I call BS simply because of "the fall".

Except for "knockout" blows to the head people dont crumple like that unless they're acting.(See FIFA World Cup 2014). Even dudes getting spinning back kicks to the same region take a split second to realize how bad it hurts before they take a knee.
