Just got back from it, very enjoyable movie with great action scenes. At the same time has a stylish approach to the typical assassin movie. Movie takes is a bit light hearted despite the violent action scenes. Very enjoyable.

The Matrix IV? I feel like he keeps making the same movie over and over. 47 Ronin wasn't bad, it just wasn't great.

I saw it last night. I was planning to watch Fury but the show was full.

I liked the movie and found it entertaining. Sort of reminded me of Replacement Killers. I like Keanu's movies and also enjoyed the movie Street Kings (2008).

There is alot of gun play in the film and though I agree with Greg there is some poor gun handling; it's a film and nothing is rarely portrayed as in real life.

Dave don't let the dog dying dissuade you because it is a good flick. The dog goes quick.

Finally, I would recommend the movie as it starts off slow, but moves quick up until the end. There are a great deal of HK products in the movie as well and some cool classic muscle cars.

You should watch a movie that was just released on DVD here in the states, an Australian film called The Rover.

SPOILER

Through out he film you think this guy is killing everyone to get his car back that was stolen from him in the SHTF Aussie outback. Well in the end you see that he wanted it back so he could bury his dead dog that was laying in the trunk of the car the whole time. As a dog guy I really appreciated that ending.

Let's see,
sounds pretty original,
normal seeming guy that is actually found to be

former/retired Green Beret SEAL Hitman Gunfighter Cop Ranger Assassin Ninja Sniper Marine

with really cool car truck jeep

and mad skills

avenges death of wife son daughter dog parents war buddy

against impossible to win odds

against

other military corrupt LE bad corporation mafia criminals

Sounds pretty original. A must see.

(The said thing is I will want to see it and am a sucker for these films.)

This movie is actually based off of Barry Eisler's John Rain character. His books are a great read and well grounded in reality. I highly recommend them. Also, unlike other authors, he has an active errata page on his site and accepts corrections for any aspect of his books - from geography to geology to guns.

Enjoyable cartoony movie. The gun handling will cause you physical pain.

That always kills it for me. Kind of like that scene in Commando where he pulls out a different weapon every 4 seconds to dispatch a bad guy. I think my friend and I counted something like 8 different weapons pulled in 20 something seconds. Also all of those movies with those mystical 20+ round 1911s and 13+ shot revolvers. Too many to count... It ruins movies for me.

The only thing you see wrong with what you wrote was that you put it in the wrong thread? Interesting.

What exactly does it matter to you? If the actor portrays who he is playing, it does a good service to CK, whether the claims are true or not. If you can't get over it, good luck to you in a world where you think that shit is so important. I would recommend a dark basement dwelling.

If the idea of a gay man being a sniper is what makes your ass tingle, I have some really bad news for you...

ETA: Not sure what your "insider info" is, but knowing what I know, your insider is an idiot. Wonder how close your insider is to BC that he could somehow get such an idea and not realize how absurdly incorrect that is.

Ticket prices are $13 for adults, $11 for seniors/military/students (with valid ID) and $11 for youths age 17 and under.

Also, poor Theon. He's typecast as a scared man-boy now.

I still can't fathom how these characters aren't deaf. They're supposedly veterans of many many gunfights and yet they can still hear.

Bruce Willis & John Moore were on one of the HBO channels talking about Good Day To Die Hard. Bruce Willis stated in one of his previous movies he loss hearing in one of his ears.

Edit: Under # 4 - Unfortunately, the famous “table scene” in which McClane kills one of the baddies by shooting from underneath a long table was so loud and close to Willis’ ears that he lost two-thirds of his hearing in his left ear.

Just went and saw this movie and if you haven't seen it yet it really is worth going to see. Just absolutely awesome action from start to finish. The only problem that I had is that, based on lunchbox's recommendation and 77% of the internet's belief that piracy ought to be legal, I snuck in through the back door so I wouldn't have to pay. Then I snuck behind the concession stand and stole a Coke and a large box of popcorn. When the manager asked me what the heck I thought I was doing I explained to him that lunchbox and the Internet believes that piracy should be legal and therefore I should get to watch this movie and get concessions for free because everyone else thinks I should. He apparently didn't agree with lunchbox. Or the Internet. Go figure.

I watched it with my son. Not horrible. Basically a modernized 70s anti-hero, 80s action flick, updated fusion.

The pseudo cooperator shooting style used for the gun fu was weak.
He shot everyone like they were a foot away from the window of a car he was seat buckled into.

Reeves finally makes a movie that doesn't suck, kudos.

Anytime there is gunplay with reloads, it makes me a little happier. Runs out of mags. I think he does a chamber check on a pick up too?? On 1V2 fights, some of the bad guys still stand around waiting to be shot.

Reminds of Mel Gibsons "Payback".

A nice little action flick left open for a sequel, that I would go see. Liam Nesson is dead to me.

Hard to think that Keanu Reeves is getting too the 'retired' hit man stage of his career.

This movie was one of the best shoot-em-ups I've seen in a long while. Great action scenes, great shooting and a great simple story. Nothing complicated or drawn out. You killed my puppy which was a gift from my dead wife, I dismantle your entire east coast Rusian mafia. Also a great soundtrack. When he goes through the club and sneaks around killing silently before going loud looking for poor Theon Greyjoy, what a great secne. The music was just perfect for that part of the movie. When he stabs the bald security guy in the throat while his hand is over his mouth and slowly sets him down while making serious eye contact...............awesome.

Yep. I was surprised by how well done it was, the surprise I guess comes from how little Id heard about the Equalizer. It wasn't bad but I rented it twice because I thought I hadn't seen it. Yes. Now I'm all scramble brained but even a guy with a brain injury should know if he already saw a movie. Right now I couldn't tell you anything about Equalizer other than Will Smith turns into Samuel L Jackson when he drinks coffee. Right? Maybe I need to rent it again...for the first time.

John Wick was...eh. I hate to say it but kinda gay. Like, not homo gay, but really flashy and noisy like a two hour nightclub DVD. The story moves fast for the back 80% which is good because the first 20% is sloooooow. With the depth of the story, or lack of, I was surprised how long it took to set up. I'm all for revenge movies but they could've had someone who looked like he was upset.

There were guns though. So that's neato. The few shootouts that weren't Equilibrium bad (without all the dust...seriously, why did everyone bleed dust in Equilibrium?) were kinda cool because of the simplicity and methodical targeting and transitions. I at least can appreciate how long it must have taken some very patient instructors to teach a piece of plywood how to do all that and not look strained. But that was drowned out by the sound of confusion. Still don't know who any of the characters were and if it was good or bad when they died five minutes after they enter scene. "Ahh...they killed him...oh noooo...nnnyyyaaaayyy?"

John Wick: Chapter Two, will be released on February 10th, 2017 in theaters nationwide. Beyond that, the film now has a new European place of business, with the tweet announcing that Reeves’ superior hitman will be kicking “Italian ass” in Rome in the upcoming sequel. It’s a nice move, giving the new film a new landscape to investigate, as well as a new place filled with a whole other series of villains to go head-to-head with in hand-to-hand, or bullet-to-bullet, combat. What’s unclear is how the original characters, tied to the New York hotel where Wick and other assassins prefer, will factor into the shift in setting. Time will tell, and we’ve got plenty of time to wait before John Wick: Chapter Two hits the big screen for all to see.

The Russian name he was given in the first movie does not translate to boogie man. Firstly "baba" is female so can't be a "man"

The closest thing would be a which but it's not exactly right either. Regardless. Not "Boogie Man"

It's 2016. How hard is it to translate Russian? This isn't back in the day like when the Navy Officers in Hunt For The Red October were wearing collage graduation pins. And KGB officers wear enlisted army soldier epilettes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baba_Yaga

"In Slavic folklore, Baba Yaga is a supernatural being (or one of a trio of sisters of the same name) who appears as a deformed and/or ferocious-looking woman. Baba Yaga flies around in a mortar, wields a pestle, and dwells deep in the forest in a hut usually described as standing on chicken legs (or sometimes a single chicken leg).[1] Baba Yaga may help or hinder those that encounter or seek her out. She sometimes plays a maternal role, and also has associations with forest wildlife. According to Vladimir Propp's folktale morphology, Baba Yaga commonly appears as either a donor or villain, or may be altogether ambiguous."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogeyman

"Bogeyman is a common allusion to a mythical creature in many cultures used by adults to frighten children into good behavior. This monster has no specific appearance, and conceptions about it can vary drastically from household to household within the same community; in many cases, he has no set appearance in the mind of an adult or child, but is simply a non-specific embodiment of terror."

It's not a direct translation, but it more or less gets the point across.
