I'm planning my next couple of can purchases and I have SCAR 17s and am planning to buy a second .308 next year (either KAC ACC or PredatOBR), so my question is, what is the consensus on what muzzle device to use on a 14.5-16" .308 for use with SOCOM mini 762? Would a flash hider beat the can up and necessitate a MB or would I be ok with FH (which I generally prefer)?

Caveat, I already have a Saker 762 in NFA jail but I'm planning it for a .300blkout build down the road (SBR'd AX556 lower reserved for it) but it will realistically be late next year or early 2016 by the time I get to it. I also don't believe in sharing cans on rifles, I'd rather have 1 can per rifle.

General answer:

If you'll be shooting mostly suppressed get the muzzle brake to act as sacrificial first blast baffle and save some wear on your can. If you'll just occasionally be shooting suppressed get the flash hider and don't worry about it.

Blast baffle on the SOCOM 762 mini is much thicker than normal. So that should help if using the FH. I have MB on rifles I shoot more 100% suppressed and FH if I don't shoot as much want to shoot unsuppressed.

Tan MB. Black FH.
