9mm ar15 drain hole???

ok, so i got heavier buffer and made a spacer to reduce overall travel.....question, do i need to drill a hole in middle of spacer to vent air when buffer cycles? noticed the plastic spacers and spikes tactical spacers that you buy do not have a hole in middle of spacers! and people who use quarters dont either...so is it neccesary?????

Pretty sure the hole is for water drainage. Unless your buffer fits so tightly that it creates suction when moving.
