have read several stories about the two spent casing that came with it I am confused.

What are they really for is it for case marks or have they used the bullets from the cases for ballistics.

I live in fl they left the bag with both cases in it.

It's for registration. If your gun came with both of them, your state did not require it. Also people use the date stamped on the envelope of the spent casings as a "born on date" so to speak.
