On this fine forum. I own a half dozen ARs but I'm really wanting a m16a4 clone. I know Colt and FN both make said rifles but I can get a FN for 979 from my lgs. I haven't priced many. Is this a good deal and if anyone has this gun what do you think about it?

The Colt is mil-spec quality. The FN does not stand up to the same standards. There is a recent thread about the two weapons for further details. You can also go the BCM route by ordering the complete upper, minus the charging handle, from BCM for $439 (the full auto BCG is free for a limited time)and a complete lower from Rainer Arms for $395. Your total out of pocket expenses will be less than $850 for a top tier quality AR. Your shipping and FFL transfer feel will be also be less than tax on a LGS buy. I just did this and am expecting my gear next week. I would act fast on this option as both the uppers and lowers move fast.

If you can get the 20" BCM with a free BCG for $439, you can't beat it. I built somewhat of an M16 clone with that upper and it was excellent. Stock milspec trigger and Lake City M193 and it shot close to 1 moa off a bipod.
