What are you using. Being the proprietary gas system, what brake/comp are you using, how does it react etc etc??? I was thinking maybe surefire MB556 as I am tempted to get a can. I bought two of these rifles, one is getting my Nightforce 2.5-10 and the other is getting a T-1. I really like the mams system but the price of the comp is a little steep considering I am going to want to use the can on multiple rifles, if it is worth it I may still go that way but looking for some opinions here.

Thanks in advanced.

You can get a QDC can, and pick up a combination of three prong and MAMS. (this is what I have done, waiting on the ATF)

But in reality you should look for the break that gives you the features you need. The gas system is not that different it requires a special consideration in choosing a Break/Comp.

I've been running the Battlecomp 2.0 on my SR-15, very happy with it.

The griffin armament flash comp is know as a poor mans mams, but dont let the price fool you as it is an excellent device. This is the taper mount version if you run a Recce 5 or 7 can from Griffin.

What's the verdict on the AFAB Mini comp?

I like my AFAB a little better than my Battlecomp.

I've only put 10 rounds through one, so I cant say I have enough experience to have a verdict on it, but it did seem like a good device.

I used to be a huge BCE fan, but the Flash Comp and the BCM comp have swayed. It's not that the BCE is a bad device by any means and their customer service is some of the best I've seen, I just think there are more advanced designs out there now.

Very true, they were very good when they came out. Now they are a little behind the curve, maybe they got a new mod in the works.

If you are looking for the real deal go MAMS, I would not go with the TT/MAMS knockoff love child.

I've got a "real deal" MAMS, bud. Just trying to get some opinions on the alternatives out there. Some of us can't afford to drop $250+/$400+ on a muzzle device for every gun.

I was leaning for the Surefire the most, I was also considering the Battlecomp. I have shot the Griffin on a different rifle with mid length and liked it a lot. Sounds like I could just flip a coin here...

It's a better BC, with less flash, for less money.

Are you ever going to run a suppressor?

I am debating, that is why I was leaning toward the Surefire. Still undecided.

You just missed two MAMS that I sold @ $225 each. The MAMS is my favorite brake design by far. But I've got a suppressor inbound, so they had to go in order to make room for different mounts. I actually considered getting a 556 QDC suppressor just so I could keep the MAMS. In the end, I couldn't justify the cost difference because I got a great deal on an M4-2000 and $400 in rebates to buy new mounts.

I was tracking your FS ad. That's a killer deal for the suppressor. I might have done the same. For me the Saker is high on the list of candidates.

I'm still rocking an A2 on my SR-15 but my brother has a PWS FSC556 on his SR-15 and it mitigates the recoil to almost a non existent level. I think PWS has a FSC556 that will allow a KAC can to be mounted on it as well.

I hate I missed that one...

I had a TT on my old SR-15, but I am gonna snag a QDC can this year.

Yeah, they went really fast. New owners are receiving them today.

I am still on the fence about a suppressor. Don't like the paperwork headache and need the instant gratification, not the 10 months. LOL. I am actually leaning more toward the Battlecomp now though.

also what about the Lantac Dragon??? I have shot one on a carbine length and thought it was pretty nice.

I have a QDC laying around that I used briefly on my SCAR before it went back to the parts bin, next AR upper I purchase or build I will have to try it out to compare against the 3t. Im not using it now because I don't have the can for it, and I hate shooting unsuppressed.
