What I know:

That the Mayland Gun Works tool works very well for adjusting the factory HK45/P30/VP9 sights. That it works well for installing 10-8 sights.

What I don't:

What other sights can be installed with the MGW tool? How are the Heinie EZ-Lock sights to install?

Thanks!

The Heinie Straight Eights cannot be installed with the MGW tool. Not sure about the EZ-locks. And after looking at the EZ-locks, it appears those are for 1911s with an adjustable sight cut? Not really applicable to the HK family.

Trijicon HDs can be installed with the MGW tool as I have done on my P30 and USP45c.

ETA: I stand corrected.

From Heinie's website: Heinie EZ-Lock HK 45, 45C, P30 & VP9 (http://www.heinie.com/shop/3950p-q-heinie-hk-45-45c-p30-slantpro-qwik-straight-eight-ni/).

My Heinie EZ locks slid right in with no need of any tool.

I just installed the Heinie EZ's on my VP9 and the rear slides in with no problem. The front took a few light taps with a punch, but a little file work would have worked too.

Just as a heads-up, but the MGW sight pusher for the USP and P2000 - which also works with the P30 and HK45 - does not work with the VP9. The slide sits too low for one thing and the "charging supports" do not allow the slide to be properly secured to the tool.

And I did quite a bit of filing on the front sight but got impatient and whacked it with a hammer. Turns out that I didn't need to file it at all, just a good hammer whack was what I needed.
