View Full Version : Safety turns hard when bolt is looked to the rear
Just as the title says, i have a DD V7, and i installed a cmmg ambi selector, when the bolt is locked back the selector turns hard. When the bolt is forward it works fine...any ideas?
normal. most safeties won't even engage if the bolt is locked back.
Hmm. All my Colts with stock and Geissele triggers will engage with the bolt locked back...

I'm not sure what kind of safeties you are using, but I just tried 6 rifles and they all switch to safe when the bolt is locked back; which they should. At that point, the hammer has been engaged by the sear.
To the OP, it's probably the safety itself. Maybe a bearing surface is rough or out of spec. Drop in another safety and see what happens.

OP, you didn't go with the B.A.D.-A.S.S.? "OMG, the horror, the horror." :fie:

That's the rifle's way of telling you it wants BAD levers.
I think it is just a rough spot on the selector, it is getting easier to turn now. I know i should have gone with the BAD ASS, however this one was sitting here on the shelf, and it was $18.00. I have used one on a Colt 6920 i have for some time now, and have had good luck with it. I will replace it with a BAD inc selector when funds allow. Thanks for the help!
