I bought a spare Colt BCG from a reputable source. It came in the sealed bag with all the proper markings. It has a ding/scratch/wear mark on the end that is bugging me. Should I worry or care about it? If it's cosmetic, I don't care, but if it will affect premature wear or anything like that I would replace it. It's pretty noticeable with the metal exposed and larger than the pictures make it look. I checked out the BCG's in my other guns and none of them have a wear make in this area...

Sorry for the crappy pics; I don't want to open the bag in case I have to replace it.

Looks like a ding/scratch/rub in the phosphate coating. As long as the ding is not raised causing it rub on the inside of the receiver it won't affect function.

Keep it well lubed and rock on.

Well receiving damaged parts really pisses me off. That looks like it was dropped on a concrete floor at some point.

For me... I return stuff like that at sellers expense. Many will say to you as long as it functions its fine. That's garbage to me. I work hard for my money and believe You should receive undamaged parts.

Purely cosmetic. Call up Colt's CS and complain (as they are the ones that did it).

While you could use it, I wouldn't accept it in that condition since it's obviously damaged. I'd call them and see if something can't be easily worked out. Worst case, you rock on with it, but IMO they need to know they sent it out in that condition.

I can't really see it, but I wouldn't worry about a little finish missing. If it's a dent/flattened out/etc.. (I can't tell) I'd send it back.. JMO
