We all have them. Something we are almost ashamed to admit we like. Sappy movies? Really bad fantasy or Sci-fi novels?

For me it is simply Japanese Anime. Ranging from the classics by Hayao Miyazaki up through the newer ones like Fairy Tail and Sword Art online (Which ironically has some good gun porn in the 2nd season)

So what are yours? Always interested to hear what fellow gun people are into. Especially when it is something outside the "norm" for us.

Zombie/post apocalyptic movies, I don't care how bad they are or how many times I've seen them, gotta watch 'em every night. Like me some anime too, gonna have to check out Sword Art Online since Netflix is carrying it now. Still waiting for the live action Akira movie, even though their probably going to butcher it...

First season has a really interesting premiss. Playing an Virtual MMO where you use technology to actually be your character. But they become trapped in it. Unable to leave and if they die in the game they die in real life.

I ended up getting a Crunchroll account just for it and Fairy Tail.

Amusingly it was his Steyr's gay blade thread that made me think of this.

Yeah, I figured I needed to give the vintage kobudo weapons a rest. Ironically, despite my interest in most things Asian, I never got into anime despite the potent combination of martial arts themes and strong Hentai content or influences.

The only DVD I have is Twin Dolls (aka Twin Angels), and once you've seen Twin Dolls you've seen everything anime has to offer. I've tried to sit through stuff like "Ninja Scroll" but I just can't get into cartoons. I've even abandoned South Park for the most part and it was one of the most intelligent shows on TV.

Every now and then, I'll watch an episode of Jonny Quest for pure nostalgia and it being the best cartoon from my youth. But I still hardly have any cartoons on DVD, no original Spiderman, no Justice League. The only one I can think of is the original Superman serials from the 1940s. And I've grabbed a lot of really bad 70s TV on DVD, everything from CHiPs to Isis (that would be the Saturday morning TV show not the terrorist group, I wonder if they know they are named after a woman).

I suppose "bad TV" on DVD is another guilty pleasure. Right now I'm getting into "The Invaders" (1967) and I must say I'm less impressed by "The X Files" right now as far as original ideas.

The OLD TOS was a lot of fun and there really were some great people. Like the shooting community in general, it was a victim of it's own success. It's kinda like how Yeager would have never been tolerated, let alone endorsed, twenty years ago. But at the same time, twenty years ago the "black rifle" community was having their bayonet lugs and sliding stocks taken away.

Ten years later, everyone had an AR-15, and unfortunately that included retards like Yeager and all the Yeager tards that call his stupidity "real world" training. And just as the growing firearm community ended up with a "retard contingent", forums like TOS, GlockTalk and too many others to list were plagued by them.

Ten years ago, I was literally on EVERY forum. Now I think I only have five in my bookmarks and this is the only one I regularly frequent.

Guilty pleasures. Hmmmm...

Sci fi and horror movies. And for some reason documentaries of all types.

Some are good. Most are bad. Some are so laughably bad, it's and added bonus to me.

And being a guitar player, shred music. New or old, doesn't matter. From Beck, demiola, Segovia(yes he was shred before shred), to Satriani, Vai, Becker, Friedman, to the flavor of the month. Burning the wood between the wire is awsome.

Have to add(old and new), over the top martial arts movies. The crazier the better.

That is good to know and will end up checking it out. But for some reason, when I see a remastered one, it seems like somthing is missing or maybe taken away. If the soundtrack isn't scratchy, the video out of focus and sometimes see wires and slightly exposed harnesses ... Well it just not the same.

For me the benefit is both the "dubbed English" and original Chinese language options. That and true wide screen. If you haven't seen them, start with "Five Deadly Venoms", "The 36th Chamber of Shaolin" and "Heroes of the East." They are pretty much the Holy Trinity of Kung Fu films.

Game of Thrones.
Sons Of Anarchy
Did I mention Game of Thrones? ;)
Maybe not so great if there's other people around, but that show will probably change your definition of "binge watching". I blew through season 1 in a day....Damn season four isn't due til Feb. 2015.

Per "guilty pleasures".... geez, where do I start....
I love Scifi (and a little fantasy on the side). Since pretty much forever, I've been obsessed with futuristic machinery, weapons, vehicles, you name it. I've even had a book idea milling around in my head for the last ten years or so. When I saw the original Star Wars (IV) that shit blew my mind. Got really into that for a while. Never liked Star Trek though. Go figure. Unfortunately that Star Wars universe can be pretty fruity at times, and then came the much-bemoaned episodes I, II and III. Ep. II wasn't bad (the gunship sequence in the coliseum... Ermagherd!), but after Episode III.... so much potential for that movie (If I could RE-direct it...), and you put cute talking droids in it? F*** it. I'm out.
Luckily right around then I found WH 40,000. When I saw the Space Marine on the front of the first DOW RTS PC game, I was hooked. Then I realized there was books.... LOTS of books... and a whole story and universe beyond that one game (which by the way I still own and occasionally play all 4- DOW, DOW:WA, DOW: DC, and Soulstorm). So for a bookworm like me, that pretty much sealed the deal- my first was Let the Galaxy Burn, and then the Ultramarines omnibus, which is why I've always been an Ultrasmurfs fan. Needless to say, 40K blew my mind like the first time I saw Star Wars... Except, you know, it actually seems to get better with age....
Now if they could just turn out a decent FPS/3PS and a solid movie or tv series or two....

I too also enjoy watching shows far beyond er... below my age level from time to time. I'm not even going to go into details, but some of the old Nickelodeon shows are still pretty hilarious. And I think there's something therapeutic about watching totally pointless shows where people deal with totally stupid issues.... :secret:
Per cartoons, I've watched a fair share of stuff as a kid, as well as some anime (2 seasons AMG, during a particularly easy and pointless college class), but never really got into into it. Oldschool cartoons, I've come to the conclusion Tom and Jerry is the only one you need to know about.

I've never been more dissapointed with TV ideas than that show and "Millenium" with Lance Henricksen. Awesome possibilities and premises totally wasted on shit ideas and the writing was attrocious. Just so we are clear, I don't think the "X Files" was a bad show, I actually really liked it. I just stumbled upon a TV show from 1967 where they clearly mined a lot of their material from. It's sometimes hard to pull of quality sci fi, especially for a TV show.

Was the TV series "Millenium" based upon the 1989 film of the same name?

Not sure why, I just can't watch porn on my computer.

When I was deployed we had access to some pretty raunchy stuff on share drives and USBs. You will use a computer if its all you have. Believe me...

One of the hardest things I ever did was stop watching porn. It was freaking difficult. After 3 weeks it got to the point where I would see bra commercials on TV and just go insane - and this was with me getting the real thing whenever I wanted it.

The struggle is real folks, and if you can break it you will see the light. I did. It was difficult and took time, but I noticed a significant increase in things I can't mention on a family board (Faces [multiple] were just covered...) as well as an overall "nicer" feeling going about my daily business. Can't explain it, but it's definitely there.

I also look at women like they are human beings now instead of a big pair of floppies that I want in my face.

I'm sure some will doubt me but I don't really watch a lot of porn. Can't stand most of the new stuff, hate females with tats, am repulsed by 98% of the guys in porn and the whole "spit on your junk" thing doesn't excite me.

And you can only watch so many Jessica Drake / Brad Armstrong movies before they get dull. My porn viewing is pretty much background when I'm with my wife and not even always then. Once in awhile if I have a pile of bills I haven't paid in a while or some other annoying form of paperwork, I'll toss in an Andrew Blake DVD to help me decompress while I deal with the bullshit in my life.

It wasn't any deliberate plan to stop watching porn, I just ran out of free time and had more important things which had to get done.

Dude, your phone with you in the toilet is one thing. A cup of coffee?! :bad:

Many years ago we had an attending spine surgeon that would do 12-18 hour scoliosis surgeries on little kids. To multitask he really would break scrub, hit the head, spread some paper towels ON THE FLOOR and then spread his lunch out on them while he was taking a dump and talking on the phone so he could get back into the OR as quickly as possible. That was some sick-ass shit (literally)!

That is one great thing about the smart phone...it did away with the need to a magazine rack in the head! LOL

Now food or drink in there....oh hell no! Nasty!

Don't know if this counts as a guilty pleasure but I compete in Field Trials with my Labs. The guilty part of all of that is the cost involved that my wife has no real clue about. Sure she sees the travel costs but doesn't know about everything else involved. It's almost as expensive as guns and ammo and classes etc.

I guess it's no more of a guilty pleasure than my gun addiction but I am really into cars, especially *gasp* Japanese tuner cars. Recently I've been spending more money on car stuff than guns. Other than that, I'm pretty boring.

ETA- I'm also really into sports, especially hockey. I don't watch much TV but if I am, it is usually sports of some sort.

I really don't want something I handle regularly, especially before or during meals, in my bathroom let alone in my hands while I'm taking care of business. I understand nobody is using the phone to wipe, but still seems like a generally bad idea.

Surprised no one's said it so I will.

Taking 30 minute dumps with my phone.

Wife and kid give me $hit for it but it's the only way a guy can get a break sometimes.

I prefer to see it as multitasking--cup of coffee, some news, a little m4c all while dropping a deuce.

Op, Gotta wipe so I'm out:)

Ah, so you surf porn then lol . . .

Yeah no kidding, I can't wait to hear the stories of fellows dropping their smart phone into a freshly used bowl! :bad:

I hear on the psychological aspect but you're actually better off using your toilet seat as a plate than touching your phone before you eat. Phone's and T.V remotes are the two dirtiest things we touch every day and most people don't think twice before stuffing cheetos in their face after touching both. I clean my phone with alcohol regularly –something people should do regardless. Still I would never eat anything without washing my hands if i'd been on the phone.

Multitasking my friend, multitasking:D

Aside from using my phone on the toilet, I just thought of another one: Kifaru gear

You haven't lived until you've spent $1,200 on a freaking backpack!

For the misses we've got a Gen 1 MMR, a ZXR with long pockets and XTL lids, and an E&E for my daughter that I got for like 60% off way back.

Recently picked up a Nomad with Camp bag, Longhunter lid, and Universal Gun Bearer and can attach my 8 man tipi with Medium Titanium Oval stove stuffed in a Large pod with the center pole riding in the UGB. Whole tipi with stove weighs around 10 pounds.

Kifaru gear=man legos!

I never las... I mean watch more than five minutes... at a time.

Trust me I'm aware. I also regularly alcohol wash ALL the phones in my home, considering you breath into them on a regular basis with regular house phones. I try not to eat and handle my phone at the same time, but mostly I rely on keeping my phone reasonably clean. And part of that effort is keeping it out of the bathroom.
