I figured I would post my newly finished Mk 18 clone. I know it's not an exact replica, but I think it's close enough. I picked parts that I had previously used in the past and have enjoyed.

Edit: I know I shouldn't call it a Mk 18.

Here's the specs:

Lower:
San Tan Tactical STT-15 Lower Receiver
CMC Single Stage Curved Drop in Trigger
Battle Arms Development Short Throw Safety Selector and Enhanced Pin Set
Umbrella Corporation Grip 23
B5 Bravo SOPMOD Stock
Milspec Buffer Tube
JP Enterprises Silent Captured Buffer Spring
Noveske QD Endplate

Upper:
VLTOR MUR Upper Receiver
Daniel Defense RIS II Rail
Noveske 10.5" Carbine Length Barrel and Lo-pro gas block
Leitner-Wise Manufacturing Black Nitride M-16 Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group
Rainier Arms Raptor Charging Handle
SilencerCo Saker Trifecta Muzzle Brake
Knight's Armament Micro Rear and Front Flip BUIS
Bravo Company GUNFIGHTER Vertical Grip SHORT
Surefire M620V Weapon Light
Elcan SpecterDR 1-4x Rifle Scope

I'm hoping to add a SilencerCo Saker 5.56 supressor and LDI DBAL-I2. Let me know what you guys think and what you like and don't like about it.

Not bad. That brake may be a little "barky" however.

I've found any kind of multiple chamber brake on SBRs are extremely loud for whoever is next to you.

Yeah that's kinda what I was afraid of. It'll primarily have my Saker on it anyway, but I'll just warn others when it's not.

I've found that when shooting next to someone with a dual port brake that it's not so much the noise that bothers me but the blast of hot air. That becomes bothersome. LOL. But screw 'em. The point of brakes is to keep it flat shooting. Doesn't matter if people find it loud.

After seeing PFran's CQBR build, I've decided to do this the right way. Just bought a 6920 SOCOM to build off of:blink:

I'll be updating this periodically with new parts. Stay tuned!

These guns are flat shooting with an A2, no need for a break. I started shooting with a 3 brake, went to a KAC QD flash hider for authenticity and there was no difference in muzzle climb or felt recoil. Only time I get muzzle rise is with a suppressor attached.

Yeah after running this thing through a class, I've realized it doesn't really make a difference what I have on there. Since I already have a Saker, I have to stick with a SiCo mount. Otherwise I'd run an NT4.
