View Full Version : ZQ1 5.56, anyone have experience?
Walmart is selling the ZQ1 5.56 (MKE) for .33 cents a round. It's SS109/M855 62 grain FMJ. Oddly, the box does not state the bullet weight. Made in Turkey.
Anyone try this stuff? I picked up 5 boxes today (150 rounds)

It's 55gr. I've had great luck with all the ZQI ammo I've bought, and pretty much exclusively buy it for range ammo these days. Cheap, accurate, and not a single ammo-induced malfunction in about 600rds of 5.56, 800rds of 9mm, and 200 of 7.62x51. If I see it in WalMart I buy it and my ammo piles increase with less pain on the wallet.

55 grain? Sure about that? The website says 62gr. Reckon I'll have to pull one apart. It's good to hear you've had no issue with the 5.56
Oops. You're right it's 62gr. I had a brain fart, please forgive.
My experience was still the same as reported. Accuracy was better than most Federal and PMC ammo.
I've shot some. It went bang, and put a hole in the target. Groups weren't particularly great, and seemed to be a bit wider than the Privi or Federal stuff I was using.

Same here. I've only been through a few boxes though.
Had a buddy shoot a bunch of it up for blasting purposes. Seemed to be acceptable. The brass is ok for reloading.

Anyone have experiance with their 7.62 NATO stuff?

I have bought quite a bit of it lately. The local Walmart has it for $8.99 a box. I have probably put 1200 rounds of it through my SCAR without a hitch. It is relatively clean and reasonably accurate as any M80 type round could be. The brass is also good for reloading.

Good to hear, my local Wal-Mart has it for $9.97 and it is the cheapest brass 7.62 NATO I can find.
