The newest generation of the Daniel Defense Aimpoint® Micro Mount gives users the option of both an absolute or
lower 1/3rd co-witness with iron sights and Aimpoint’s popular Micro R-1, H-1, T-1, or T-2 optics. In order to achieve
a lower 1/3rd co-witness, the user includes the spacer with the mount when installing the optic. For an absolute
co-witness, simply install optic without the spacer.

I'd prefer it if DD and other companies making kit like not make all their company info and stuff white. Stands out too much.

IMHO this is a step backwards. I prefer a solid one piece 1/3 lower cowitness mount.

This is just extra layers and connections you don't need.

Is that spacer plastic?

The spacer isn't plastic. It's a nice mount, I ordered a few. I saw them at AUSA and liked the flexibility, and I've always really liked DD's mount.

For people that don't prefer 1/3 cowitness or use non-standard ARs or SCARs it is a good concept, especially for armories that maintain a pool of weapons, which I suspect may have driven this requirement.

I kind of agree. Two more screws to break or come loose resulting in zero issues possibly, although not likely.

This is true. I wish they would continue to make the one piece lower 1/3 still though alongside this one, but I don't see that happening.

I'm confused...how is it two more screws? It's just a plate with longer screws.

Four for the T1 footprint, and two for the base (same as the old DD mount). The DD mount is a pretty well proven one at this point, I just can't see how a plate would make a realistic difference in it's performance.

Sorry, I had to re-look at it with the computer screen. From the small pic on the phone it looked like the plate screwed to the mount and then the aimpoint screwed to the plate/spacer.

I like it. Is it possible to buy it at a cheaper price without the spacer for those who don't need/want it?
