Don't know how well they work but I like the looks

This is the Russian "Glock" right?

It's Turkish. If you're bored and want to learn all about it, here you go:

You are thinking of the Arsenal Strike One. They look almost identical

That thing looks like it would have a really low bore axis.

That looks really interesting...

It needs a factory threaded barrel and a standard mini-RDS mount though.

I just like the fact that it appears as though they've listened to people that actually shoot handguns. All of the changes on this model are very, very desirable features. The grip shape looks great, bore axis looks good, the stippling looks fantastic, barrel length is good. My only gripe is that the beavertail tang area still looks as uncomfortable as a PPQ or a P99. It appears to be too square but i will have to hold one in hand before i judge it.

Looks a bit like a Glock with a more conventional grip angle. Might be promising.

Pretty stoked for this one.

I didn't watch the video.

Is the decocker on the slide still functional?

Magsz
10-28-14, 20:22
Yes, it safely drops the striker.

balance
10-28-14, 20:31
On a SAO pistol, this is not really desirable. If it gets pressed and the striker is decocked, then the pistol is out of action until the slide is racked.

I just watched the video. The V2 and SA models look very interesting. Looking forward to your video review, plouffedaddy.

I really liked what that gentleman had to say about actually listening to feedback (especially U.S. customers), and then making sensible changes based on that.

**** the Turks and their Islam/Nazi ideals. I'll stick with a Glock 17 or a M&P.

Too bad, the Turks used to be very good allies.

It's rational to base ones purchasing decisions on ones prejudices. To each their own.

I enjoy my Canic CZ clone, and although it's in the shop for trigger spring replacement, I consider it an ok weapon based on shooting this pistol for over a year. If a few thousand were issued to l.e. agencies, what would the performance data say about the Canic 100? Would the data analysis compare favorably with Glock and S&W issued pistols? My guess is no. Note that I said guess. I bet that your new Canic will serve you well. How well would this model fare if issued in large numbers? We can't say--yet.

Thanks for the review, it looks very interesting and for an MSRP of $399, I might have to check it out. Loved your review of the Canik Stingray, for a guy looking for a CZ 75 P-01, it might be another option. Keep up the great work

Another solid review - thanks! This IS tempting. 18 rds and decent form factor, ergos, reliability, accuracy, etc. Would like to see more on reviews with more rounds.

Is it really Ceracoat? I know it hasn't been tested extensively yet, but I wonder how the finish is compared to other known/accepted guns. Would like to see the trigger a tad over 4 LBS though. Any negative thoughts on the decocker - is it easy to knock off accidentally.

I DO like that it doesn't have a MONSTER slide stop tab - I might even make it smaller. Is it out of the way with high thumbs? It is what kept me out of the PPQ.

Will sight options become available?

Thanks again!

This is interesting, especially with an MSRP of $399. It will be interesting to see what the actual price will be on this.

Several places have pre-orders in the $350 range

Figured 350. Good truck gun till you might realize it's better than your carry/HD piece. Hmmmm...

I agree. It just seems to add more parts with no benefit I can think of.

TBH I'd pay a little more for a CZ P-09 or 75.

The decocker is an oddity. I don't understand the inclusion of this on a striker fired gun. Manual safety? Sure, but a decocker?

Just a guess, but can it be stripped with the striker cocked? It would be nice to have an option like that on a Glock rather than having to pull the trigger.

I guess if it would allow field stripping without having to press the trigger like on a Glock it would have merit.

I wished they would've came up with a better solution to be able to disassemble without pulling the trigger, ala M&P and XDM. It does seem possible to decock the gun when you don't want to - is this the case? I would rather just have to disassemble via pulling the trigger than have a goofy decocker on a sticker-fired gun. I guess it's just a strange solution to me.

How easy is the decocker to depress? Am I crazy to worry about an inadvertent "bump" decocking the pistol and giving it a dead trigger?

They're in stock at Buds for $335 shipped FWIW (http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/95361)

Sights - are they PPQ or P99 like?

I do think that having reasonably priced 18 rd mags is great.

Having a stock gun with decently grippy texture is also a big plus.

Also, for me it solves the PPQ "big slide stop" problem.

Do it just so I can tell my jarhead friends you did it on my recommendation

m4brian

While I'd rather not have the decocker, it does have some uses, and it is not as bad as a M9 in terms of dead trigger. PD says it is not easily tripped off by accident.

Interesting the Turks chose a Byzantine symbol to put on the handle...

Hank6046
11-08-14, 13:27
I like the option of the decocker but I see what you mean, It looks like an interesting pistol, with all the current pistols on the market it's nice to see this addition, it means that it truly is a buyers market

He doesn't like the balance or feel - but here is another review:

http://www.luckygunner.com/lounge/canik-tp9-sa-budget-9mm-torture-test/

As stated, not a real torture test, but not bad.

The thing that always comes to my mind on bargain guns is what about warranty? This gun has a one year CAI deal (one year from shipping FROM CAI to dealer basically). Then you are on your own. Shipping pistols is expensive, and so is labor.

Does anyone have any further updates on these? How are they holding up? I'm thinking about a new range toy and most of the youtube/internet chatter is positive.
