Lens Covers for CompM4

I recently purchased flip-up lens covers for my CompM4 from Aimpoint a la my two PROs. I love them but I have just noticed one issue: I cannot access the battery compartment with the front cover installed. Those who have these covers know how securely and tightly they fit on the optic. My question, therefore, is: what is the easiest way to remove the front cover? I've tried pulling while twisting without success.
