El Cid

This is not a long-term review. I've had the knife for a while now and decided to try it on a cluster of palm trees in the backyard. I would have taken before and after pics of the clump of trees and brush, but I didn't expect to be so impressed.
I bought the version with the bronze blade. I've wanted a kukri since I was a kid but never cared for the wooden handle or sheath.

I was very surprised to see it taking down entire palms with a single swipe!

Most of these were about4 or 5 inches in diameter. A few of the drier/dead palms required more chopping.
The after pics show minor wear on the blade.
After a day of yard work:

After cleaning. The edge appears unaffected.

The only gripe I had was one I anticipated before using it. The guard is too sharp and can abrade your hand. The lanyard ring does the same. Even after putting on gloves I was getting a hot spot on my hand. If I ever find a friend with a grinding wheel I may try fixing those two areas.
Overall the balance was great and despite the light weight it is a fine chopper.
