Obvious Browning influence with this. Opinion for anyone in the know?

Winchester builds a Savage is about the gist of it.

We are doomed!

I feel comfortable saying that wouldn't happen. It's apparent though this is more of a budget rifle. Unless I missed it, no hammer forged barrel. I wish they kept the older three position safety.

I was considering a model 70 but I might look at this a bit more before deciding. Does anyone know if the trigger guard part is polymer or metal?

This would be sweet with a threaded barrel by the way.

Will be interesting to put one side-by-side with an A-Bolt III.

The link says polymer.

I read through it a couple tines and it sounded ambiguous, the magazine is polymer but I was not sure about the rest. Probably is polymer though since all these companies are trying to be as cheap as possible.

On a similar note...my brother recently bought a Ruger American in 243 for my nephew to use as a deer gun.

I helped him sight the thing in and was amazed at how good it shot for such a cheap rifle. A steal for what they ask for this platform.

I don't know about how many configurations Winchester will put out but the Ruger Americans come in all sorts of flavors and are very attractive.

Winny better get their game face on
