I sent off for my the stamp for my PAP M85PV at the beginning of January and received it back a couple of months ago. I worked on it when I had the chance and finally got it done today. I decided to go with a Manticore Arms triangle stock along with a Stormwerkz hinge at the rear. At the front I went with a CNC Warrior booster. I also installed a Tapco G2 trigger group and a US made Yugo style grip from Ronin's Grips. The hardest part was installing the side folding stock. There were zero instructions sent along stock and hinge from Manticore Arms, so I had to figure out what I had on my own. It turns out that the screws are 10-32. According to my measurements, the slots in the hinge are 0.625" apart, so that's how far apart I drilled the two holes. I purchased a drill guide, a 10-32 tap set and #21 jobber length cobalt drill bits (which are the correct size to use when drilling and tapping a 10-32 screw hole. I used a caliper and center punch to mark the locations for the holes in the rear trunnion.

Finally, I finished the handguards with teak oil. Some people have been using a wedge to adjust the angle of the buttstock. I absolutely don't think it's necessary. In fact, the angle of the buttstock helps me get a better cheek weld. The rifle is heavy for a krink, but I knew that going in. I really don't care for the parkerized style finish on the buttstock, but it's definitely solid. The hinge is a little tight, but the buttstock does not bang up against the receiver when it's folded. Overall, I'm very pleased and am looking forward to shooting it in its new form.

Looks great Bret.

Did you intend to post this in the Precision Rifle sub-forum?

Oops, definitely not. It's certainly not going to be a precision semi-auto. If a moderator could move it, that would be appreciated.

Looks good but I wouldn't trust the rear of the trunion tapped for bolts that small for a task like that. Just my opinion.

Oh, nice! I get so jealous of you people who live in free states. I've got 2 of these M92s but I can't SBR in Commiefornia. I guess I'm just lucky to be able to have the M92. I'll be moving in 4 years, to a free state.

Very nice SBR conversion, congrats.

One thing, I would get rid of the Krink FH and put a Manticore on. I like the shorter FH.

Short of replacing the rear trunnion, it's the best option that I could find. It actually feels pretty solid. I'll probably never know how durable it really is because I'm not very hard on my guns.

I do like the shortness of the NightBrake, but I like the krink style look better.

The host is postimage.org which is one of the largest image hosting providers. Neither my software at home or work are indicating trouble. Don't really know what to do or if anything really needs to be done.

Longer bolts and washers/nuts on the back side with loc-tite. Ideally you'd take a thicker piece of metal that you cut to the exact width of the inside of the receiver and then thread two holes into that. That's how I'd do it.

That's pretty sweet, Bret!

Question - Does the stock hinge lock in the folded position?

Bret

Yes, it does lock in the folded position.

I like that drill guide, never seen one like that before. As for the back being too thin to thread, many, many people do it like that and I have never seen them speak of issues.

Just doesn't seem like there's enough thickness there to get a solid enough mount. I had planned to do a threaded block like I described earlier for peace of mind if nothing else.

The opposite side has a channel so you can use it on rounded surfaces (barrels, pipes) and edges.

I hear ya, there is a guy selling a threaded block with a shim piece for this gun, I have seen it for sale on one of the AK forums.

I went to the maker's web page which lead to another question. They show it on the home page in use drilling a round part. It is held on with a clamp that has bottom jaws with a built in V block. Any idea where to buy the clamping pliers?

I have no idea. However, due to the design of the drill guide, the hole will still be drilled perpendicular to the cylinder even if a regular clamp is used.

He's here too. The wedge & block that he sells is kind of expensive. I considered doing the same before I saw his post that was sans pricing so I pm'd him to get further details and was put off by the price. WAY to much for two small pieces of metal.
