I'm planning on buying a bushmaster m4. I'm still new to this and trying to decide on what model to buy. I want to keep it under a 1000. I'll be using it as protection and just going to the shooting range with it. My top three would be probably bushmaster m4 a3, bushmaster x15, bushmaster a2 superlight carbine. I need as much info as I can get. Thanks

For a Tier 2 Rifle my BM xm15? has been good at plinking at the range. No problems yet, but I have not ran it like my tier 1's. It has the removable Iron sight with flat top rail for aptic mounting.
I would seriously check out the S&Wm&p or the Charles Daily if i were you.
