Where can I find info on cleaning up / lighten the trigger pull on a Ruger 22/45?
Also, any idea on how to disable the magazine disconnect?

There are a number of custom makers out there who offer essentially drop-in kits for the Ruger MK-II weapons...I don't know about Mk-III's.

Volquartsen and Clark Custom are a couple of good places to start looking. I installed a Clark Custom 10/22 kit in my 10/22 and I am very pleased with the result.

magazine disconnect removal (http://guntalk-online.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=634)

excellent resource(s) here (http://guntalk-online.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4)

you can really clean up the 22/45 trigger by setting the overtravel stop (installed but not adjusted in your factory trigger) and drill/tap/adjust a pretravel screw in the factory trigger.

I installed a clark hammer bushing/sear pin kit to remove the mag disconnect, and installed/adjusted the pretravel and adjusted the overtravel screws. With the factory hammer & sear I was able to get a 3.5# trigger pull with minimal pre/over travel on my MKIII 22/45 for very little $$.

They are fun to tinker with, good luck with your project!

Send it to Clarks. You'll get an unbelieable trigger for a very reasonable price. I did that with a Mk II 5.5" several years ago and also had them install a set of Bomars to replace the cheesy Ruger adjustables. I ended up with a gun that shoots at a level that I don't believe and if I posted some results you'd call me a liar.

On Rugerforum.net and .com is a guy called Iowegan. He is really knowledgeable and can help you, he usually sends his "Books of knowledge" to members of the forum for free and will help with any other questions.

I sent my 22/45 MK III to Volquartsen Custom (https://www.volquartsen.com/category/16/4) for their trigger job / installation of their "MK II" accurizing kit. They can disable the magazine disconnect with the MK II hammer and bushing. I e-mailed them and Nic Volquartsen helped me out with what I needed and sent them my Ruger. Very pleased with their work. I also disabled the loaded chamber indicator, and had VC disable the bolt locking feature (http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=184967) (rimfirecentral.com thread).
