So I purchased some Colt LPK's that didn't come with the FCG from G&R.

Each kit had everything I needed to install into my normal semi-auto lowers...but each kit had an extra spring that I wasn't sure about.

The spring is shorter than the bolt catch pin spring, it isn't wide enough or even flared to be a disconnector spring.

Anyone have an idea what it is?

The spring in question is the bottom on in this picture. The spring on top is a Spike's Tactical bolt catch pin spring for comparison.

It looks like an extractor spring, but it's hard to tell because it's on it's side.

I tried fitting it in an extractor, it will not stay in place and the tension of the spring is much weaker than that of an extractor spring.

I received one of these in one of my Colt LPKs, as well. I have no idea what it is. Its definitely not an extractor spring. I thought it was a disconnector spring at first. I really don't know. Mine is just sitting in a plastic box of random parts. strange.
