SMART GUN? ....….if they could only integrate the apple pay device into it! Imagine whipping out your pistol to pay at StarBucks.:suicide:

Interesting. I can see some good use for officer safety, especially in more rural agencies where a road patrol officer or detective may be out alone miles from backup. Of course it relies on the phone... So if during a struggle the officer's phone is damaged or destroyed then no notification takes place.

What I imagine will happen is the folks who accidentally shoot their TV or mirror during dry fire will be unable to hide their error.

Very Interesting. My only concern is this leaking over into the commercial side of gun sales. Microstamping + SmartGun = Big Brother is Watching

One step closer to a chip in every drivers license and God forbid...every newborn.

We are a lot of steps away from that technology. This device is still fairly large and only has the juice to connect to a nearby phone.

Slippery slope fallacy at it's finest.

Cops break equipment all the time, this thing doesnt stand a chance.

It is also a crappy idea.

So, do I tell dispatch every time I'm at the range?

Nope, they will tell you.
