KAC BUIS: Real or fake

I received this KAC rear iron sight as part of an upper I purchased so my going in assumption is that it's real, but just a different "generation" than the one that came on my LPR (the one with the shield/helmet logo). Below are some photos contrasting them. What worries me is
1. The "pitting" on the 'suspect' sight suggests sloppy forging, and
2. The screw extends beyond the limit of the sight creating a sharp edge which also seems like sloppy manufacturing.
Both these issues are highlighted with arrows in the pics below. The fact they are labeled/logo'ed differently and the knobs are different does not concern me. What do you think? Just an imperfect sight from KAC, or a forgery?

Pretty sure it's real. I know they used the non-knurled adjustment knob when they first came out. It also has the slightly larger clamp/bolt which was typical at the time as well. I have multiple generations/machining revisions of KAC parts including KAC picatinny handstops and BUIS.
