Anyone have any clue what this goes to??

My guess is an issued NYC officer pistol

The trigger does look like one, but the huge hole that looks like a take down leads me to believe it is not.

The rear pin is too high and trigger is wrong.

Is this a pop quiz? Because I'm stumped, I'd ask a gunsmith that's taken apart a ton of guns.
