Cross Tac Receiver Blocks?

Does anybody use these? Im a tool buyer and am thinking about getting this set. Wanted to see what everybody thinks.

I dont like the pliers method of installing the bolt catch. Scarred up a billet receiver trying that, so thats the end of that. I wish I would have spent the money on the tools instead. Its a franklin armory lower with a colt LPK. Maybe the lowers roll pin hole was out of spec, not sure. This event also canned all future billet receivers also. Probably gonna replace this one with a Mega.

So what about this setup? Any better options out there.

Also, I plan on getting something else to torque barrel nuts.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I don't have a vice right now. I dont have a place to put one at the moment.

How does this thing support the trigger guard ears? Can someone post a picture?

Tom Sweenys book is where I first saw the blocks. He has a picture in his book gunsmithing the ar vol 4. IDK how taking a picture of a picture in his book would work out. I am sure its against forum rules, or maybe Sweeny's rules..

But it basically lays flat, just like using a block of wood or something. Not sure if it has some locating indentions or anything like that. I couldnt tell in the picture.

It also allows one to INSTALL the pin on the bolt catch without a vice, but IDK about REMOVING a pin since your going the opposite direction.

This is what I use for the bolt catch roll pin. Its designed with one side milled off to give the right clearance and not touch the lower as you put the pin in and or remove. The proper tools always make things easier.
