If so, which do you recommend, granlure or rubber?

And why?

Mostly likely, what you'll find is people recommending rubber for a concealed carry pistol that'll be next to the body, because it won't rub your skin raw (for those of us who don't like undershirts).

The rougher texture is more often used for a home defense/range/competition. I suppose of you're carrying OWB with a layer of clothing in between your body and the pistol, the rougher texture would work well in that role, too.

They tend to shift, tried them, and went back to stippling.

Yes, it is for ccw, but I don't wear it next to my skin if at all possible. Acutally I never had, I'll use a hawaiian shirt if necessary. I do sort of like the looks of the rubber grips better but was not sure if it will give as good a grip as the granulure grips would.

I wondered about that as well, one of their videos instructs to use a hair dryer or heat gun to set the grip. Did you try that? Any success?

They destroy Under Armour style shirts and car seats if you carry at the 4 o'clock.

Yep. It grips that fabric something awful which also causes serious imprinting issues.

Thanks, sounds like the rubber grips are the way to go.

I've been using the rubber texture on my S&W shield for about a year now. I applied it per directions with a heat gun and it has not shifted. I also have them on my vp9 but they haven't been on long enough to see if they shift but they definitely help my grip during long range sessions. The shield is carried AIWB about 4 days a week and has a few thousand rounds thru it. There has been no problem with discomfort against the skin or shredding my clothing.

I'm with Sensei, the granular were too abrasive for EDC. I use a combo of the rubber and stippling. No issues carried AIWB.

I cut my own now since pricing went way up. Just take some sand paper to the side towards your skin and knock off the sharp edges leaving a very grippy texture that wont grate your skin. Use them on my gen 3 Glocks but not needed on gen 4 IMO.
