Hey,

I'd like to order a AR10 scope today. I've already ordered the AR10 parts, it will have an 18" free floated barrel. I'm conflicted over which scope and mount to get. The budget is tight for this, I'd like to keep it under $400 with rings but may be able to push it a bit.

I'll mainly be using it for target shooting, maybe hunting, and hopefully not SHTF/defense. BTW I have an AR15 with an Aimpoint T1 as well for short range stuff.

I'm not even sure what magnification I want or what would be best.

Redfield Battlezone 3-9x - $170
Redfield Battlezone 6-18x - $270
Primary Arms 4-14x ACSS - $280
Vortex Crossfire 3-9x - $170

What do you all think? Any thoughts or advice? I almost bought the Primary Arms 4-14x but thought I'd try to get some opinions from the experts.

Thanks!

I'd suggest this one over all of those. Plus it's on sale through today:

Grab a used Larue or ADM mount and you're around $450 for a great setup. If you get a cheap/budget scope, you will regret it later on. Buy once, cry once.

That's a good deal!

I may weasel my way into a Bobro mount, would you suggest the standard or extended mount?

All of your options seem to be below $200, is that your max budget?

If you can bump up a bit, I would check out the SWFA 3-15 mil/mil, which gives you a nice magnification range for a .308
