Has anyone shot one of these? Know anything about them? Sig 1911 pow/mia edition.

Likely it's no different than any other Sig 1911 with the exception of the logo on the side.

Traditional 1911 guys will tell you it's not a "true" 1911 since it has the external extractor. Other than that, Sig 1911s are darn good pistols.

I assume you meant extractor, rather than ejector.

Very likely lol

Coffee was still brewing this morning when I posted.

Many of the Sig 1911s also have the traditional Sig slide profile and you'll have to take that into consideration when selecting holsters. They won't work well with standard profile 1911 holsters.

I like 1911s. SiG 1911s aren't not true 1911s to me.

But the external extractor on the SiG does not do a particularly good job of engaging the rim of the cartridge, leading to potential extraction and ejection issues. They pretty routinely fail Hilton Yam's no magazine ejection test (remove the magazine, run the gun, cartridge should eject. SiG 1911s, as a rule, do not eject the cartridge under such circumstances).

I have a sig scorpion 1911 full-size, and it shoots great. While the external extractor is not traditional for 1911s, never had a problem with it in 1500 rounds. I did have to junk the stock magazines as they were causing FTFs, but some CMC mags fixed that.
