Normal MI Rear Flip Sight Wear?

My Stag upper came with the MI flip up srear ight, which (so far) has been reliable and accurate. But I've noticed that when I fold the sight down that there is a mark at the base of the sight column that has worn to show the bare metal. It was not there when I first got the sight and seems to be wearing the more I flip and use the sight. Seems to be right on the are where the bearing (opr whatever) holds it stright up when folded up for use. Is this normal wear? Here are some pics. Sorry, my camera sucks.

I guess, I'm a little surprised that that wear is normal. It's not just the finishe that is worn, it's the metal also. Damn, I wish I had a better camera

Try macro settings if you didn't already.

Wow Troy! Nice service! Glad to see you guys standing behind product like that even if you aren't sure it's defective. That's what I call stand up! I haven't had the opportunity to really try out any MI products yet, but if your service is always like this, you definitely got my attention.

UPDATE:
I got the new sight topday and will send back the old one. I am impressed by Mi's customer service. I didn't ask for a new one, and I didn't even have to send in my old one first.:eek: Soon I'll be needing a railed handgaurd for an SBR build. Guess which brand I'll be buying. Thanks to Troy and the gang at MI!

Mine show the same wear as well. It'll be nice to know if it's just cosmetic and would not affect lock up long term. Looks like the ball inside is made of much harder material than the notch.
