What brands do you all like?
Anyone know what radius cut Kimber is using?
What jigs do you guys recommend?
10-8 Recommends the Chip McCormick "Extreme" Grip Safety, anyone have experience with these?
Thanks Guys,
Dave

I am using an Ed Brown on this build and it fits really well on a Fusion frame:

It was something I had laying around but if I were to do it again I would get something with the "memory bump".

Kimber uses a .250 radius. The McCormick beavertail will be the closest fit. I have used these along with the Ed Brown part. The McCormick needed the least amount of blending. Also check this site for allot of good info, www.harrisoncustom.com. Look in the articles section. Good luck.

Thanks man, you made my day- placing order for McCormick - I heard they have about the most consistent fit of all.

Most beavertails require a .250" radius. I have an Ed Brown beavetail with memory groove and I love it. It fits great on the gun and in the hand.

Asking what beavertail you prefer is like asking what gloves fit you best. It will be different for many shooters. I have been using the Wilson 298 for many years and I prefer it. I tried the McCormick but still prefer the Wilson. If the McCormick is not installed correctly it can present sharp edges to your hand during the initial grip of the pistol.

I really like the original that came on my Kimber!!! It's always been nothing but positive and very comfortable!:D

Ed Brown w/ Memory Groove or Wilson Combat those are the two MOST used in the industry and by smiths'.

HTH...

I prefer the Ed Brown's also on my Kimbers. Gives you a higher grip on the gun that was a noticeable improvement for me.

Keep in mind that you'll need to have a smith fit one and refinish the blaster.

Mayonaise hit it... You will not find a safety that grips higher than the Ed Brown!

I am totally impressed with the one on my new Special Forces.
