View Full Version : Recommended shop to trick out M&P

A friend of mine wants to do a full job on his M&P. RMR with co witnessed sites, fitted threaded barrel, trigger job, cosmetics, etc. The works. Heard good things about Bowie Tactical for such work, but wanted to give him a list of good places and I have not personally had such work done.

Mr. Bowie did some work on the frame of my M&P .45 a few years ago. He did a great job. His price was decent, communication very good as well.

Can't help with the other stuff, but as far as the trigger goes, he just needs to drop a bunch of Apex parts in.

I can do that for him myself. He's a brain surgeon (literally) but no chance he'll be doing any such work. Obviously, this is a fun gun project for him and I'm assisting in making sure it's good work. He had a 1911 built and it's a POS which I'm arranging to get sent to a legit smith for fixing. He's not a gun guy, just a guy who like to own/collect gun and plink at the range.

For the fitted threaded barrel, Grant at G&R. He will fit a storm lake match to your slide.

Not sure at this time. I'll have to discuss his options and interests once I let him see what can be done. G&R for sure, and I know Apex offers a fair amount of after market options of for the M&P.

I had Mark at L&M Precision mill and refinish my slide. Granted it's a sample of one, but I couldn't be happier.

I had ATEi mill an M&P compact slide and a G19 slide for RMRs, and have been very happy with the results.
