Come on now, you're surprised? Really? The people that run "most" of these organizations are all liberals feeding at the pig trough, incapable of doing anything else.

Want to help a wounded warrior? Send him a check.

ETA: There are a few exceptions.......Very few.

Here you go, give this a read.
It is all a SCAM - Shocking News at 11 (http://www.veteranstoday.com/2013/12/08/wounded-warriors-project-a-legal-scam/)

Sad to say, the Wounded Warrior Project is bled dry by a top heavy, greedy executive structure and the remaining funds are disbursed to multi-tier distribution organizations with similar management structures. By the time the money actually goes to direct benefits for veterans, there is probably less than 10% that reaches them.

The results of my research are disappointing, to say the least. To summarize, the WWP collects a fee in the form of generous compensation paid to WWP executives who outsource fund raising, collection and distribution of funds to other 501.c.3 organizations which provide services that directly benefit veterans. The WWP would make Bernie Madoff proud!

Yes they are.

Yes, they make a perfect storm of "we are making a difference" and "change" left socialists. As a civilian who has family in law enforcement and military, my soul is sickened. Or sickitated, as some say...

Request mods move it to the right place. I had no idea...

Need to find a good link that states where they money really goes - an organization I deal with likes to give them money, and I'd like to show them why they need to put it to good use elsewhere...

IMO, the best way to ensure funds get to the intended recipients is to work directly within the local community.

This helps keep the Charity separate from Socialism.

Merry Christmas.

It is hard for me to believe that a charity running a national ad campaign is getting many of your dollars to the ones they are claiming to help. WWP actually rates higher than, it seems to me, they should. Looking at the amount they take in compared to how much they hand out looks like a very wide gap to me. There is no doubt that there are better charities.

I do not like WWPs policies or structure, however, many GWOT wounded veterans received immediate and direct support from the WWP as soon as they got stateside. They gave them care packages of basic hygiene and clothing necessities where those basic amenities were not provided.
Bad-mouthing the WWP to these guys won't take much hold unless they are highly 2A driven.

I don't give money to charitable organizations, especially United Way.

The percentage of the money collected pays for enormous executive salaries and perks like a chauffeur driven limousine for top management. Little of it trickles down to the needy.

Want to help out a wounded warrior? Pay their light, gas, food, etc. bill or as one here already suggested, send them some money directly.

Charitable organizations are (for the most part) scams.

Yup old news. I believe they have refused donations from the gun manufacturing industry and other incredibly stupid moves like that.
