Is they anyone making after market barrels for my M&P-10? I understand that Smith made their's proprietary. Is this true?

The chamber/barrel extension is what's propriety iirc.

That being said, one of the best reasons to own a m&p10 is the barrel. What do you want to replace it with?

I found a gouge in one of the lands, 3" from the muzzle. Cleaning rod mishap? I'm not sure, but my 168gr bullets group about one inch at 65yds. I'm sure the barrel was capable of holes touching each other.

Considering its melonited 4140, I doubt a cleaning rod did that. I'm sure s&w will take care of you if you give them a call.

Found a similar anomaly in my 10. S&W said send it in and they would take care of it. It took 2 months but that was during the summer shutdown which didn't help the turnaround time any. Both barrels were good shooters.
