I figured this belongs in the "Precision Semi-Auto" page because Tim from M.A.C. got a group under .5" when he shot this gun. its expensive as HE11 so I would never buy one but I thought I would share because it is cool to see this out of a factory gas gun. I would rather take the time and have fun building a gun that could do that and possibly spend less. its still cool though.

very impressive group. i wonder if there is anything to the unlined bore contributing to this level of accuracy.

Other than the scope and the rear stock, what else separates this rifle from a normal mr762?

We see that level of accuracy with the regular 20" Semi-Auto accurized HK417's as well, with the new sniper round, NM258:

The scope we use is the S&B PMII 3-12x50.

MR762 Vs. SCAR17. Same ammo same optic. That's the comparison I want to see.

Owning both it is no contest. The HK is far more accurate and a much smoother shooting rifle.

Guy in the comments on the video asked a good question:

How much tighter could his groups have been were he using a Geissele trigger group in it? The Geissele's second stage is only 2#. It appears the HK stock trigger weight is 4.5#

Price upgrade though: $450, but if you are already spending $6,000, guess that is not much.

The trigger on the MR rifles is pretty darn good stock. Not quite SSA, but close enough that I don't view it as limiting.

Perhaps I read the specs wrong. What is the trigger pull weight at the second stage point?

I'll get my gauge out and edit this with the actual number as measured. It isn't super light, but more than adequate.

As measured on my Lyman it is a very consistent 4# 10.4 ounces.

I have also similar experiences with my 20"MR308. Best groups at 300m at around 0.5moa, average groups under 1moa with Lapua Scenars. Even bulk packed 123gr trainers hold under 1.5moa. My optic is 4-16 Vortex PST FFP.

(Gun was zeroed with 123grs, but I just wanted to shoot a test group with Scenars so the group is not centered)

I just picked mine up a couple of weeks ago. It is a beautiful weapon and I am looking forward to going out and setting it up sighting in. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/19/81fd525197e3108d7552ac557675d7a1.jpg
