Tried searching, maybe I missed it somewhere. Will the new BCM Gunfighter stock fully collapse on a 7 position A5 tube? Thanks in advance...

No, it will not fully collapse.

Edit for clarity: It does work as others have said below. I have one on an A5 RE and fully collapsed leaves a small gap as do 95% of the other stocks on the market used with the A5 system. The gap is only cosmetic and doesn't prevent anything from functioning as designed.

It does not fully collapse no, but it DOES set a noticeable distance closer than a B5 stock for example.

Why does it matter of the stock fully collapses on the A5 RE? Aren't stocks that do this just longer on the front end so they cover the tube, but don't shorten the rifle's OAL?

I see this question pretty frequently, so just wondering...

Hmmm. Fast response, but let me offer a small correction.

Yes, the A5 receiver extension works fine with the BCM Gunfighter stock. I've never figured out why some people think it doesn't. As mentioned, the stock doesn't collapse to the point where the end of the stock butts the castle nut. No functional significance - purely cosmetic except for someone who has to shoot with the stock fully collapsed and an extra 3/4 inch length of pull only in the fully collapsed position might make a difference. VLTOR makes an EMOD stock specifically for the A5 which is longer and does eliminate that cosmetic gap.

Here's a picture of it fully collapsed.

Hmac that BAD lower looks great.

I don't like the stock to touch or be close to the castle nut anyway. I have a QD sling attachment end plate and want the stock clear of it even fully collapsed. I never understood why people needed them close. (unless it was a looks thing)

This was a concern before I got the stock but I could care less now.

Running two of them on A5's right now. I don't even own a regular lower receiver extension any longer except for demo purposes.
