I'm creating this thread to discuss views from the ATF on braces.

I'm not sure how any of this effect me specific, or how I can use my firearms. The ATF is going to need to be more specific, or charge someone with a crime, it seems.

This seems to be a topic of enough interest in multiple states, that it seems having a neutral thread to discuss it would be useful. I think we all need to realize that any ATF letters are their view to the specific individual, blah-blah, yada-yada, IANAL...

Sig Sauer compliant letter:

This was an article pointing out an opinion on the ShockWave Blade:
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/12/foghorn/atf-rules-on-shockwave-blade-ar-pistol-brace-but-adds-a-warning/

Another view of how the sig brace could be effected:
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/12/robert-farago/atf-dont-use-sig-brace-as-shoulder-stock-without-nfa-stamp/

One alarming that ATF now views it as illegal:
http://gunssavelives.net/gun-industry/breaking-atf-issues-new-opinion-letter-stating-that-shouldering-sig-brace-is-illegal/

Another being more rational about it:
http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/12/foghorn/calm-pistol-brace-ruling-hasnt-changed/

All of this seems to be a setback for braces and support devices in general.

Thanks, I didn't know, usually only read a couple forums here.

Moderator can remove this thread. I'm going to read over there now.
