Question for Glock Armorers--

Mags have been falling out of my duty weapon (Gen4 G21 approx 900 round count) under recoil.

The mags are new production with a low round count.

This happens most often when shooting one handed.

The mag catch spring seems OK. No obvious defects with mags. Ammo is Winchester 230 g white box. I am not bumping the mag release while firing.

Has anyone else experienced this? I assume I need to replace the mag catch and spring.

Previous experience on that G21 variant?
That frame in particular?
Modifications or "improvements"?
Swap guns with someone shooting a gen4 G21. Where does the problem go?

It's often the shooter, but these will get the process started.

My G21 chambered for .460 Rowland has never had that issue.

My guess, you are somehow accidentally depressing the magazine release.

What makes you sure of this?

A simple test is to insert a magazine, and yank and twist and see if it pops out. If it does then the magazine release probably needs to be replaced, or the cuts on the magazine may need to be relieved. If it doesn't pop out then you may have hit the release without realizing it.

I had a co worker record the malfunction. No contact with mag release button. I spoke with our factory rep. He believes that the mag catch spring needs to be replaced. Glock has had a problem with some of the assemblers bending the springs during installation. I will replace spring and advise

Being curious, Austria or Georgia?

Georgia. Recent production G21. Gun runs perfectly now. The spring was bent

Dang, as previously stated never heard of that, especially when it occurred more frequent shooting one hand.

Enjoy.
