Hey guys,

I have an Officer's model that actually runs! It is a stainless enhanced model but it BADLY needs a different grip and a dehorning job. Inspire me with some pics of you short-format 1911s. Please!:)

That's an EGW beveled bushing and a Clark drop-in plug.

OD*, that is a really cool pistol. I have a Colt 1991a1 Compact that I am going to use the EGW bushing and Clark Custom Guns reverse recoil spring plug on. I am considering a set of Novaks low profile sights as well. Can you tell me how the take down process is with the reverse recoil spring plug is? Thanks for any information you can provide me with.

Like LAV said, you should buy a lottery ticket. :)

Well this one isn't mine, belongs to a friend in Savannah. It's not really an Officer either, it has an "officer" length frame and 4" barrel. But you can look at the radical slide bevel and dust cover dehorn job. Built by John Harrison.

Or a pair of CCO, again not mine, I think both of these went to a lawyer in the Windy City.

Should I quit?

Thanks Canuck.

There's a couple ways you can take them down (maybe more I'm not aware of), remove the barrel bushing and slide stop as you normally would with a conventional plug and pull the slide off and then remove the recoil spring plug. The other, is to pull the slide stop only and remove the slide/barrel etc., as one unit. I fitted the bushing tight and remove the slide/barrel as one.

Does semi-custom count???

Its another officers frame model with a 4.25 inch barrel...Les Baer stainless Stinger.

You'll have to try to over look the scratches...this is my carry gun...and it gets carried and used hard...but not abused.

The only thing I have done to it is changed the grips. Sorry for the crappy pic...my photography sux.

Here it is 10,000+ rounds ago...fresh out of the box...

OD*: Like the OM. Have one too(first yr they came out>>'85, I think)but it's been around the country. Wilson,Heinie, the Smithy @ Gunsite and finally EGW for their set-up with the Clark bushing and ISMI spring. HATE full-length guide rods as a rule, BUT the early OM's like to shoot the stock plug across the room. I think this set-up is the way to roll. If you threw some Novaks on your gat it could be mine's twin!!:)
