I'm very familiar with the NFA in general, having 1 machinegun and 3 silencers already. However, I have been out of the loop for several years and so am trying to catch up with current market values and where to find machineguns for sale as well as what transferable guns are even available.

I want a .22, 9mm, 5.45x39 or 7.62x39 because that is what I can afford to shoot or that I already have stockpiles of (for example, I have around 20,000 rounds of 5.45). I am going to liquidate some assets and should be able to squeeze out $10,000 to spend on this unless I sell my sexed up Lage M11, in which case if I add that, I could go to about $15,000.

I have always wanted an M16/M4/AR, it has been my dream to get one from the beginning. I'm not sure if I can get one is this price range.

I would actually prefer a sexed up M11 over an UZI based on my experience with both so I'm not considering an UZI as the M11 is less and I prefer it. Plus, I already have one.

I love AK's but again I don't think I can find one in that price range.

I would LOVE a select fire AUG and it would be an EXCEPTION to the caliber restriction.

What other thoughts, ideas, suggestion, and advice do you have.

How I wish an AC556 could be converted to 5.45x39!

Although I have an M-11 now, I hate the mags. I would be very interested in having an M10 9mm and converting it to use UZI mags.

If I could have the M-11 run Glock mags though, that would be the dream.

I know masterpiece arms has a semi-auto M11 using Glock mags now, but they did not answer my e-mail as tio if they could convert my NFA M-11.

Sell your M11 and $15k will get you a converted AR15, if you act soon. Real M16's will be out of your price range unless you find a seller who's not up on the current market price. You'll be able to shoot all those calibers with an upper swap.

Consider going to a gun range that rents machine guns. Find out what you really like shooting before you buy.

Since you already have a Lage 9mm, it covers the small subgun choices like UZI, Sterling, Swedish K, MP40, Thompson, etc.

I have a Colt 614 and a 1919A4, both are a different experience from the pistol caliber SMG.
I have slow subguns in the 500 rpm range up to the 1500rpm M11A1 in .380, but they're still subguns.

I would keep the M11 and save up another few $K and get a M16 non-Colt clone (converted AR15).
Parts, repairs, mags, etc availability make M16 the #1 choice.

There are no ranges that rent machineguns here in Alaska, sadly.

If it was me, I'd get an ar lower, and get a good 5.56 and 300blk upper, and a 9mm upper for fun.

Something about full auto subsonocs with silencer seems awesome.

I know it's a little more, but it's almost a 3for1

I started with a Sten/slow fire converted M11, which was an excellent beginner's platform. I eventually sold it and went with a RR M16A1. I still have it (for now) and reconfigured it as a select fire 6933, along with a dedicated .22lr upper. I consider it pretty much superior to any other FA platform on the NFA market. You can also get a 5.45 upper, along with all the other calibers available.

I'm not sure you can get there on your $15K budget, but if not, I'd seriously recommend saving your pennies until you can.
