View Full Version : A bit off of the topic - where to shoot in the Raleigh area?
I was not sure where to post this, so if I have this in the wrong spot, my apologies.
I work for the government in a non-law enforcement position. I live in the burbs and I don't get to shoot very often. The guy I was shooting with has moved out of state, so I have lost that option.
I am not too keen on the idea of shooting at an indoor range where I don't know the people shooting around me. Can anyone recommend a place in the Wake Forest/Raleigh area to shoot where you feel comfortable?
Thanks,
Elkhound

I think this belongs in the Regional section, but a mod can figure that out if need be.
I go to ENC Firing Range in Goldsboro. It is about an hour from Raleigh, but is only $25 to shoot all day. There are returning pistol targets (15 yd I think), 25/50/100/200 yard rifle ranges, a ~150yd tower and 2-3 pistol pits with steel targets. There is also a "customizable" range that depending on the day and business can be made to allow transitional and shooting on the move type training. Last time I was there I was told two new ranges for three-gun and three-gun training should be opened spring-2015. See link below:

Send me a PM if you to get together for a range day. I also do some IDPA comps in Oxford, NC at The Range:

There is a public range in the Caswell County gamelands east of Yanceyville, so something more than an hour west of you. Pistol range to 25 yds and rifle to 100. Open Wednesday or Thursday thru Sunday. Info is on the NCwildlife website. Might be another one closer to you.
