They use them across the board for the 6940.

Easier to have one design than 2 or 3.

Thanks, folks. Nope, this one is d.i. and I haven't handled one of the piston versions yet.

One of my 6940's have it, the other doesn't. Both are DI.

Sinless nailed it. Easier, and cheaper, to keep one part number in stock.

Well it certainly identifies the upper as Colt, too.

Lol, yeah, a little bit. Few more years here in hell and I can go back to Texas where I belong.

I lived and worked in the Houston area 2006-2009. Texas is a great state.
