Anyone else useing the LC 4 crimp brass? Do you need to sand these crimps down before measuring case length? Seems like they stick up a bit even after swaging. Or is it just an illusion? If i take some 320 sandpaper and touch it up a bit it seems to measure all pretty equal. Or is this not a big deal?

Are you talking about 5.56 brass?

Yes, sorry, the 5.56 LC brass with the 4 point crimp instead of the oval crimp.

Ream or swage as normal. You have to hold on tight when reaming with a drill.

That sounds like bitter experience talking.

I've never had a problem reaming off that crimp. Every so often if your hand gets lazy, a piece of brass will snag on the cutter, but it's generally no problem at all.

I find it easier to use a glove with a rubberized palm and fingers like gardening gloves. Grips the cases well and does not allow the case to spin as easily.

^ This! Makes gripping the cases so much easier.

The problem i was having is the 4 point crimp were raised after swagging so i had to sit and rub them even with the bottom of the case to get an accurate OAL when trimming, these were bought LC brass. You could see them and feel them with your thumb nail. Anyone else had this problem??
