I've always thought they'd make for a fun range gun in .44 or .357, but some of the finishes, particularly this one, are a bit much.

'Fo shootin' pimps, yo!

This, when I saw the pic of that abortion I instantly thought of a sleazy pimp.

That thing doesn't make me as irritated as Smith making that stupid faux carbon fiber M&P pistol. Just embarrassing.

I will 'fess up to having one.

Not the Cheetah,

but a DE in .44.

Man has the reputation of the gun changed.

I bought mine around 87 or 88.

44 Mag in a semi auto was just considered really neat,
but not the expense of a real AutoMag.

I put the scope mount and an Aimpoint 1000 on it.

It was a neat hunting pistol.

It took down a couple of GA hogs in the 80s.

The Aimpoint finally died five years ago or so and I just have open sights now.

It is as finicky as an old school .45.

It has a very specific bullet shape and weight and power it is reliable at. If you do not have the right bullet shape and meet or exceed the power level it likes it is a single shot.

I think most, like me, that had some sort of legitimate purpose for it simply decided a 44 mag revolver performed the purpose with more reliability and less hassle.

Instead of evolving for function and reliability,
it has evolved for show and found a following for the showy crowd, disproportionally.

There are several other guns I could have spent that money on in that time frame that would have significantly grown in value more.
