View Full Version : Lightweight setscrew LPGB - options / weight list?

Have a Colt 6933 with a 10" KMR. With my previous rail system, was using a Vltor clamp-on style LPGB but the side mounted bolt heads are now an interference fit with the KMR. Looking for a lightweight, setscrew-based LPGB that is KMR friendly and .625" sized for the pencil barrel. This is a super LW build, so GB weight is very important. Looking at Vltor's setscrew model well as BCM's setscrew model, and am unfamiliar with other appropriate options. Can't seem to find a tabulated weight comparison of the LPGB's out there. Thoughts? Thanks.

Add SLR Rifleworks. I was on the phone with Todd Gardiner the other day. He's got a sentry series adjustable gas block in titanium coming in the next few weeks. Check their Instagram for some prototype pix.

The std Sentry 7 set screw block weighs 1.3oz.

Looks great, how much does it weigh? Does the adjustment on the SLR gas blocks have a detent? I only familiar with Syrac.

2A Armament also has a Ti non-adjustable gas-block but V7s is lighter.

Any weight specs on the BAD piece?

The SLR block should come in below .8oz. It has a very positive adjustment detent....15 settings including full closed.

That is pretty fantastic! The V7 .625/.750 set-screw gas-blocks weigh .75/.8oz respectively. SLR seems right up there with Syrac. Previously my ultralight weight adjustable gas solution has been a V7 Ti gas-block with a RCA Melonite locking adjustable gas-key. It has worked in my limited testing but I am not comfortable enough with regulation at that point for prime time life support duty. Also, I have yet to try the setup suppressed, which I know an adjustable gas block is good for.

As soon as I get a part, a lighter part comes out with better features. I am never going to get project überlight built! Lol! :fie:

Correction: 2A Armament Ti .750 gas-block at .7oz (spec not measured) is slightly lighter than the V7 gas blocks weighed at .75/.8oz. Sorry for the error. The V7 blocks are, however, available in Ion bond black and .625" ize, which maybe explains why I thought they were lighter from memory when I decided the 2A Arm piece wasn't going to work for me in comparison.
