Anyone cut down a factory glock beavertail backstrap? I'm assuming it would be pretty much the same as spending 20$ on a GFA.

I've done it to all three of my gen 4's and have not had any problems yet. No need in spending the cash on a gripforce in my opinion

In terms of preventing slide bite, a cut down Glock beavertail will do the same thing. The GFA however does fill in the curve on the backstrap and help the Glock point lower. The Glock beavetails follow the lines of the backstrap. I have GFA's on almost every Glock I own because it causes the gun to fit my hand better in addition to eliminating slide bite.

This view shows it fairly well.

OK, I was thinking a glock strap that was cut down would fill in the space similar to a GFA. I only want it to help with pointing, I've never gotten slide bite with a glock so the beavertail is a moot point

I cut down the beavertail on my G17 Gen4. I like the smaller grip profile the Gen4 offers with the benefit of the beavertail attached. On my Gen3 G17 I like the GFA. Mainly for the grip angle change making it closer to a 1911 grip angle more so than the tactile feel of the GFA. I had to smooth out some edges to make it feel better. YMMV
