Juat got a used colt LE rifle. Supposed to be a 6920, but I have a question about a coule of things. The AR is marked Colts Law Enforcement Carbine and Restreicted etc. It has the short thick handguards and M4 profile barrel. The twist is 1:9. It is a low serial number LE0044xx rifle. Does anyone know if the early 6920's were 1:9 twist and the year that they were made? the safety selector is also marked SAFE and SEMI.

Below are a couple of pictures:

I do not think you got a 6920.

Paging Scott Ryan.

The 1/9 seems funny to me. Gotta be early with the double screw front pins. Sear Block? I had a very very early 6520 that was 1/7 with M4 cuts. Same front pivot pins.

David you are right. Here is a reference to it in a post on arfcom via Google:

David & Bill:

Thanks for the great information. I was a bit confused seeing everything but the barrel looiing like a 6920. Never know that there was a 6922. Now I do.

I am not sure what to look for on the front pin hole. How do I tell if it was drilled for a detent? Hope this is not a dumb question.

Thanks again

Hal
