I'll start by apologizing if this is in the wrong forum. I may or may not know of someone that came across some m855a1 and was wondering what this stuff may be worth?

Just walked out of Walmart with ZQ SS109 for $50 for 150. They had LC 855 for $70 for 150. They had plenty of it.

As of last night, my local Academy still had Lake City M855A1 900rds for $450 in a plastic ammo box. Seven on the shelf.

Is the OP (with his first post) talking about A1 or did he just put down what he heard the stuff was called? Did he confuse the two?

M855A1 isn't "Green Tip" people...

Since it's not available to civilians and unobtanium stateside, it's pretty hard to gauge value- aside from buying / selling stolen Government property.

Heard it's rough on weapons, as it's loaded like 8,000+ PSI higher than regular M855, almost to proof load level.

I wouldnt shoot it out of my personally owned guns. But if the gov. was paying for replacement parts then yes as it does offer improved performance over M855.

Good to know, I still haven't seen any and while I knew it would eventually replace M855, I didn't think it was being rotated in yet. That explains how the OP's buddy has some...
