While i wait for a kydex holster to be made, I am in need of a nylon holster that will hold an HK VP9 with an Inforce APL on it. Doesn't need to be anything fancy. I've been looking at the Tactical Tailor option but I am wondering if anyone else has a recommendation. Thanks,

The intended use is very casual hiking and something to keep the gun in as it sits next to my sleeping bag in camp. I don't need a thigh rig or fancy retention.

Check out the Tasmanian Tiger Tac Holster MKII. Not the best holster in the world, but it ain't bad for a nylon one. I think I got mine for like 30 bucks. I've used it for similar purposes that you detail, and it goes into a sling bag or on your belt just fine. I've carried both a glock and 1911 (both with lights attached) with it and it adjusts to either nicely.

First thought would be a universal model from Uncle Mikes ot Bianchi, but I didn't see any nylon holsters listed with an attached light.

I would just wait and save your money or pick up a cheap Fobus until your new holster is ready.

Either of these work for you? I have no experience with either.

This Bianchi is nice.

SIZE 1 fits my VP9 with light perfectly and is adjustable. Though the VP9 is not on this holster's fit chart.

Assuming you're right handed they're a hell of a deal right now.

ETA:
I don't understand why Bianchi doesn't test fit or list more pistols that will fit these.

This non light bearing will also fit my VP9 nicely.

Oh I see now you're just wanting something cheap to get you by.
Still, a little over $50 isn't bad at all for the Bianchi. Not much more than a lot of the cheaper made ones.
