Russia is the greatest country on earth, obviously.

No mention of the drying, poisoned Aral Sea... the horrors of Stalin's purges or collectivization... tens of millions of Kalashnikovs given freely to terrorist organizations across the globe... Chernobyl, &c., &c., &c.

And, of course, the whole thing is on the American website YouTube, involves utilizing the American invention of email using another American invention called the internet, all typed up while wearing American-designed Oakley gloves....

Not a bad bit of nationalism, revisionist history and claims of natural birthright to lands you once possessed.

A few problems, they never left when asked, they pretty much had to be defeated. Using their logic, the Germans left when asked. Also they glossed over a great deal of atrocity they are personally responsible for. They forgot to mention the Hitler deal where they agreed to divide Poland and are every bit as responsible for the invasion of Poland as Hitler and thus the start of the Great Patriotic War.

But Russia has a strong leader, the people are used to being lied to and they will support him as he attempts to restore his country to a super power. Wish we could say the same.

And a few of his criticisms of the west are even valid, not that it excuses the crap he pulls or even begins to compare.

He also has a great instructional video on how to create 3D images from stills and animate them...

Someone posted this on The SnipersHide a while back. I still have the same reaction. Makes me want to grab my 7.62 OBR go back to Kiev and hunt me some Moskali.

Too bad we don't have a leader with nationalistic pride like they do.

Honestly, I feel it is the latter more so than the former. Yes there are those with crazy nationalistic pride and it seems to be the younger generation. Growing up post USSR in a struggling country they eat up the propaganda and love to blame the west. The older people, knowing the truth behind the USSR and how times were "back then" simply keep their nose to the grindstone and their gaze down. They don't want to ruffle feathers and want to go unnoticed. They know its BS but are afraid to speak up. Some may be old enough to remember the days of the NKVD, some of the KGB, some just read 1984 and know that Putin can easily make then an un-person.

Putin is cut from the old cloth, KGB through and through. I firmly believe he believes he is something between Peter The Great and Lenin/Stalin. Looking to bring about another Russian empire.
